Sign up for Food, Fun and Reading!

Food, Fun & Reading is a nutrition and literacy program developed for children to learn about food and nutrition through children’s storybooks with food-related themes and participation in hands-on nutrition activities.
Goals:
·         To encourage children to make healthy food choices.
·         To help children develop good health and nutrition habits.
·         To promote reading and listening skills for K-3rd graders.
·         To develop reading and leadership skills in 4th and 5th graders.
Parents…
We know that parents play an essential role in the success of their children.  We ask that you get involved in this program by encouraging your child to make healthier choices and read more.  During this program we ask that you help your child to complete activity sheets, make new recipes and try new foods!  We also ask that you complete 4-H enrollment paperwork and pre/ post evaluations to determine the effectiveness of this program.  To have the best experience possible we hope that your child will commit to attending all six lessons and the special awards program at the conclusion.
