NC 4-H International Experience

 Hertford County Families~

Please consider this incredible international experience!
We are looking for 5 families who would be interested in hosting Japanese students this summer for four weeks!
Their U.S. families have backed out at the last minute and we are in desperate need of finding them homes.
We have 4 boys and 1 girl.  Below is the general information and the bios for the Japanese youth who still need host families.

*ALSO* there are two year long Ukrainian girls who need homes right away!  (For families interested in year long students, please call or email me and we will provide you with more info.)

Please note that these kids are looking for a "real" experience in America... you don't have to have a fancy home and take them on incredible vacations in order for their experience to be fulfilling!  These things are in no way expected of host families!!!

Please consider this incredible opportunity and share this information with others!
Let me know if you have any questions!

*_Some general information:_*
The date the Japanese students will be here is July 24- August 19.
Students must have their own bed. (They can not stay on a top bunk.)
Students have their own health insurance.
The student must be placed in a home that has a host sibling within two years of the same age and of the same gender.
All potential host families must fill out an application, send in 3 non-family references, and pass a criminal background check.
Extension staff, usually the 4-H agent, will then need to conduct an in-home interview.
All families are required to attend an orientation before the youth arrive in the United States. Orientations will be held across North Carolina close to their home. (Generally within an one hour drive.)
Applications, reference forms, disclosure forms etc.. may be found at :
